A Different Form of Crafting ....

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been indulging in another hobby of mine - my Family Tree. I call it a different form of crafting because I have paid all the same attention, care and passion that I pay to the stuff that I create ....

I started this way back in 2005. I was visiting my mum and all of a sudden she started to talk about when she was a girl and so it began .... Up until a couple of weeks ago, it was all set out in two A3 binders but I have re-done it using a template I devised when I was doing a Tree for someone else. I bought myself two large A4 folders with 120 presentation sleeves in, which takes all the Certificates I have and the text ....This folder is all about my Dad's side of the family - all great stuff - people in prison, second marriages, children born out of wedlock and even my step great, great grandfather being murdered - lol. I have to say my elderly aunt is at great pains to say "Well Susan, it doesn't really matter, because he wasn't blood" !!!!

I have started Mum's side but am taking a break for a couple of days. Her side isn't as colourful - just steeped in tragedy and evidence of a family fortune (which hasn't come this way I hasten to add - lol).
My own children aren't that particularly interested at the moment (apart from the juicy bits - lol) but one thing I do now is keep a Journal - not every day and sometimes not every week - to record what is happening not just to me but out there in the big wide world. When my children get to my age they will, no doubt, want to find out more about where they came from.
It will also be useful for The Gorgeous One when he has to do a Project about his family at school, as they do ....
